Brown Bag 1: Ambassador Johnson on Foreign Service and Thailand

Please join us this Wednesday, September 22 at noon in WSC 101 for our first IPE Brown Bag presentation of 2010-2011.

We are kicking things off this year with a presentation from Puget Sound alumnus Ambassador Darryl Johnson, former U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, Lithuania and the Philippines about his experiences as a Foreign Service officer.

He will speak about the Foreign Service examination process and his service in Thailand.

The presentation will begin at noon in the Wheelock Student Center Room 101. Grab your lunch and help us start off the IPE school year with a bang. This will be a truly unique presentation!

Brown Bag 3: Veseth on the Future of Globalization

IPE Professor Mike Veseth will talk about his new book Globaloney 2.0: The Crash of 2008 and the Future of Globalization at the IPE Brown Bag seminar on Wednesday March 3 at Noon in WSC 101.

Globalization is down, Veseth says, but it will be back. In what form? Same old pattern of boom and bust? Or a new version of globalization that is both feasible and sustainable? You can read about the book on Veseth's blog, Globaloney 2.0.

Copies of
Globaloney 2.0 can be purchased at the campus bookstore and also at the lecture. Veseth will be available to autograph copies of this or any of his previous books after the talk.
