Mining and Indigenous Rights: The Struggle for Self-Determination in Guatemala


A Talk with Pascual Bernabe Velasquez

Learn about the current situation in Guatemala for human rights defenders and community activists in the struggle against megaprojects, neoliberal financial interests, and exploitation of land and minerals by transnational corporations. Pascual Bernabe Velasquez will be speaking on the issues of mining and indigenous rights and sharing his personal experiences organizing community referendums and Mining‐Free Zones in Huehuetenango.
