Building Competitive Advantage: Business & IT Consulting in today’s Economy

Joe Wooley, a recent Puget Sound grad, has asked me to pass on this information to you. This is a great opportunity for those of you who are considering business careers! (And especially seniors who are about to enter the job market.)
Special thanks to Joe and fellow almunus Jim Adams for bringing this information back home to Puget Sound.

Hi Mike,

Below are the details for next week’s event. While the presentation will be specific to the consulting industry, it should be beneficial to any economics/IPE student considering a career in a business-related field, especially those seniors that will potentially be going through interview processes this fall and next spring.

Building Competitive Advantage: Business & IT Consulting in today’s Economy

October 14th, 6:00 pm in McIntyre 107

Topics to be discussed:

· The difficulties companies face in today’s challenging economic climate and the role business and IT consultants play in helping companies (including non-profits) compete.

· The unique skills that economics majors and minors bring to the table and how those skills can be leveraged in both the recruitment process and in the workplace.

· Upcoming recruitment opportunities with Hitachi Consulting.

Presenters:

Jim Adams ’06, Sr. Consultant

Joe Woolley ‘10, Consultant

Best,

Joe
