Alternative Break ("Alt Break" for short) is a unique service immersion program hosted by the department of Spirituality, Service & Social Justice during the fall and spring breaks. What social justice issues are especially relevant in Tacoma? Alt Break will give you the chance to learn about & address the issues our community faces.
Alt Spring Break 2014 will focus on Sustainable Food Justice. The first half of Spring Break (Sunday, 3/16 – Wednesday, 3/19) will be spent exploring the successes, issues, and impacts of America’s food system, locally and nationwide. Programming will include discussions, opportunities to hear from experts, and hands-on service projects.
