DC Summer Internship Opportunity at SAIS

Thanks to Emily Noel for passing along this notice, which might be useful to recent graduates. "SAIS" is the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Washington DC.

The SAIS Center for Transatlantic Relations is interested in employing a graduate student for the summer of 2008 to assist with research and seminars on transatlantic affairs. The research assistant would work with Center staff, visiting fellows, and other scholars. In addition, the assistant would monitor European press and journals on transatlantic relations and help with administrative tasks.

We would like to hire an additional intern for up to 30 hours a week @ $10.30/hr. The intern may begin in late May or early June 2008 and would work through August. Based on performance, the intern may be invited to continue working with the Center in the academic year 2008-2009 for up to 20 hours a week.


Requirements –

  • Good knowledge of European and transatlantic issues and institutions
  • Familiarity with comparative politics an asset
  • Excellent writing/research ability
  • Knowledge of one or more European languages (other than English)
