The IPE Program is pleased to announce that four of our majors have received grants to conduct research in Summer 2014.
Parker Raup received a fellowship from the IPE Textbook Fund to conduct
research in Tanzania. His project is titled "Migration and
Monetization: An Ethnographic Study of the Rural Maasai in Northern
Tanzania."
Megan Davis received
a fellowship from the Nicholas Vasilius IPE Endowment Fund to do
research in Bangladesh. Her project is titled "A Study of the Impact of
Participation in the Grameen Bank Microcredit Program on Perceived
Empowerment of Female Borrowers."
Melanie Mazza received a UPS
Summer Research Grant to do research in Nicaragua. Her project is titled
"Shining a Light on Information Accessibility and Prices Paid along the
Nicaraguan Coffee Commodity Chain."
Dan Thorson received a UPS
Summer Research Grant to do research in Hong Kong. His project is
titled "The Effects of Public Policy on Upward Mobility Through
Entrepreneurship."
